KATO General Contracting was founded in 2001 under the leadership of founder and Chairman Yasir Mayi. From our base in Duhok, we have developed a broad construction capability serving clients across the Kurdistan Region.
Registered with the Ministry of Trading in the Kurdistan Regional Government and classified as a First Class Company, KATO works with public and private clients across infrastructure, industrial and building projects.
Our main areas of concentration are Duhok and Erbil, supported by an experienced management team, skilled people and a substantial equipment fleet.

A foundation in Duhok
KATO is established under founder and Chairman Yasir Mayi.
Energy & infrastructure
Documented projects include wellsites, access roads, Summail GPF Phase II and Atrush PF1A civil works.
Expanding essential infrastructure
Experience includes Swara Tika civil works, road improvements, and the Faida treatment plant and reservoir.
Continuing regional delivery
The project record includes Simrit S7, 700 shelters at Gawilan and the Peshmerga Hospital canteen.

Since KATO’s incorporation in 2001, the company has grown under Yasir Mayi’s direction. That foundation is supported by a management and staff team with experience across the building and infrastructure industry.
